SAN FRANCISCO, September 28 — Anker has released the second generation of its Soundcore Clip-On open-ear headphones, the AeroClip 2, which promises enhanced comfort and improved audio quality for users across Asia and beyond. The device, reviewed on September 26 by Philipp Briel for a technology publication, represents an evolution from its predecessor with a redesigned wearing concept called GoldenFit. The AeroClip 2 introduces a C-shaped ear hook made of flexible memory titanium wire that clips onto the earlobe, positioning the driver outside the ear canal.
Unlike the first generation, these earbuds lack separate silicone tips, relying solely on the ear hook for fit and stability. Anker developed the GoldenFit concept by analyzing over two thousand ear scans to optimize the ear hook shape, resulting in reduced pressure on the ear during extended wear.
Comfort stands as a significant improvement for communities who use headphones throughout their day. The reviewer noted that users can wear the headphones for multiple hours without discomfort, making them suitable for daily commutes and remote work. The charging case offers IP57 protection against dust and water while supporting wireless charging, providing practical durability for families across the region who face various environmental conditions.
Audio performance comes through a twelve-millimeter dual-magnet driver with a titanium-coated diaphragm that Anker describes as aerospace-grade. This dual-magnet design aims to enhance sound power, particularly in bass response, while Bluetooth 6.0 connectivity with LDAC codec support delivers stable connections even in busy environments like train stations.
The headphones feature proprietary AI chips integrated into each earbud, which Anker promotes as a key improvement for call and voice quality. This technology addresses a common challenge for people who frequently take calls in noisy settings, ensuring clearer communication closer to home and in professional environments. During testing, the reviewer evaluated the headphones during commuting, remote work, and phone calls in noisy settings.
While the open-ear design showed slight positional shifts during intense physical activity with rapid head movements, this limitation was consistent with other open-ear models on the market. The AeroClip 2 enters a competitive market where it will be compared to other open-ear models such as the Huawei FreeClip 2 S and the Soundpeats UU2. Available in three color options—Midnight, Burgundy, and Cloud White—the headphones aim to justify their premium positioning through enhanced comfort, improved audio quality, and advanced call technology.
For communities across Asia, where connectivity and comfort during daily activities remain important considerations, the AeroClip 2 presents an option that balances technological innovation with practical usability. As open-ear technology continues to evolve, consumers can expect further refinements that address the specific needs of diverse lifestyles across the region.
