Samsung Rolls Out One UI 9 Beta 2 to Galaxy S25 With Galaxy AI Tools

SEOUL, September 13 — Samsung has begun rolling out the Galaxy S25 One UI 9 Beta 2 update to the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra in South Korea, and it brings four Galaxy AI features that previously showed up on newer Samsung hardware: Call Brief, Custom Cards in Now Brief, Now Nudge, and My FanCam, according to SamMobile and Android Authority. The build is a modest 643.16MB and runs firmware S93xNKSUCZZI4, per Android Authority.

Samsung’s own changelog doesn’t name any of the four tools; it just says “new AI features,” and SamMobile is the outlet that identified what’s actually inside the build.

What’s inside the build

Two of the four tools work largely as described. Now Nudge scans whatever is on screen in real time and suggests a next action without forcing users to switch apps, per SamMobile. Call Brief surfaces relevant information directly on the call screen mid-conversation so users don’t have to hunt for it in another app.

That description comes largely from Android Authority’s testing of the feature on the Galaxy S26, where it lives in the Phone app under the three-dot menu, then Settings > Call settings > Call Brief. Samsung hasn’t confirmed that the S25 build places it in the same spot, so S25 beta testers should check the Phone app’s own settings menu rather than assume an identical path.

Custom Cards in Now Brief let users pick data points from Samsung Health, Samsung Weather, and YouTube to build a card, then choose when it appears in the daily briefing, per SamMobile. That part is reported specifically for the S25 build. What’s not confirmed for the S25 is a detail Android Authority found while testing Custom Cards on the Galaxy S26: that version caps users at three cards and enforces a daily limit on how many times a card can be generated or edited, since it’s a generative AI feature.

Whether the S25’s Beta 2 build carries the same caps hasn’t been verified. Testers who lean on Custom Cards heavily should watch for a similar ceiling rather than assume unlimited use.

My FanCam identifies people in a video that’s already been recorded, then reframes the clip around whoever gets tapped, without requiring a special capture mode beforehand, per SamMobile. It works on any video already stored on the phone, not just footage shot after installing the update.

Fixes and the beta timeline

Alongside the four AI features, Beta 2 fixes Bixby Vision translation errors, a temporary Contacts app crash, and Wi-Fi connection drops, per Android Authority. Anyone already running Beta 1 should treat this as an incremental follow-up, not a second platform jump. Beta 2 lands one week after Beta 1, which brought Android 17 and One UI 9 to the S25 line for the first time.

That first build weighed nearly 3.86GB and shipped with the August 5, 2026 security patch, covering the S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, and S25 FE, per Android Authority. Beta 1 was mostly a platform update.

It reworked the Quick Panel with more customizable sliders and toggles, refreshed Samsung DeX and Samsung Notes (including a new Tape feature for hiding parts of a note), added a location-access indicator, and rolled out several accessibility tools like Select to Speak and a unified TalkBack, per SamMobile. Its only new Galaxy AI addition was a Pay Now option inside Now Brief. Beta 2 is a smaller, more targeted release by comparison.

If already enrolled in the beta program and located in South Korea, check Settings > Software update now. Everyone else, including S25 owners outside South Korea and S25 FE owners, should hold off since Samsung hasn’t confirmed when or whether Beta 2 reaches other regions or devices yet.
