NEW DELHI, September 23 — OnePlus has launched the N6 Lite in India, a mid segment smartphone the company is positioning squarely at value-conscious buyers, according to a launch report published Tuesday. The headline number for Indian buyers is the battery. The N6 Lite packs a 7,000 mAh cell, paired with support for 15W charging and 5W reverse wired charging — a combination that speaks directly to a market where screen-on time and standby endurance still decide purchases in the sub-₹20,000 bracket.
The display is a 6.75 inch HD+ panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate and up to 900 nits brightness. Powering the device is a Unisoc T7250 processor, matched with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of storage, expandable up to 2TB via a microSD card.
The camera setup runs to a 13 MP main sensor and a 5 MP selfie camera. OnePlus is also shipping the phone with AI tools, according to the report. The N6 Lite retails at ₹16,999 (about US$200).
It is available across OnePlus, the OnePlus Store App, Amazon, OnePlus Experience Stores and select retail outlets across India. Buyers get two colour options, Midnight Hype and Neo Green.
Analysts note the mid segment is where volume lives in India, and where Chinese brands have traded blows hardest over the past few years. OnePlus, long associated with flagship-killer positioning at the upper end, has been widening its footprint downward — and the N6 Lite’s spec sheet reads like a direct answer to what rivals are already selling in that band.
The wider Asia angle
India’s mid segment also functions as a proving ground for the rest of Asia. Devices built for Indian price points and Indian distribution networks typically travel — to Southeast Asia first, then further afield. The N6 Lite’s expandable storage, a feature that has quietly disappeared from many mid-range phones, is likely to resonate in markets where users carry large local media libraries and lean on microSD cards rather than cloud storage.
The 120 Hz refresh rate is the other signal. Once a flagship-only feature, it is now table stakes in the mid segment, and its presence here suggests OnePlus is not willing to concede on the display experience even at this price.
What to watch next is how the N6 Lite lands against competing launches in the same window, and whether OnePlus extends the model to other Asian markets in the coming quarters.
