Mumbai, October 7 – Samsung continues its software rollout with the release of One UI 9 Beta 5 for the Galaxy S26 series, following a near-monthly schedule since Beta 4 on July 14, 2026. The update, ending in ZZH6, first reached testers in India. Beta 4, ending in ZZG4, included the July 5 security patch and focused on fixes for the lock screen, Quick Panel, navigation bar, notifications, and Bluetooth routines.
The beta program for the Galaxy S26 series began in May 2026, covering Germany, India, South Korea, Poland, the U.K., and the U.S. Samsung has not published a detailed country-by-country schedule for Beta 5, so availability may differ across regions. Users enrolled in the beta can check for the update manually via Settings > Software update > Download and install.
Beta 5 is described as refinement-focused rather than introducing major new features, continuing a trend from later betas that prioritize bug fixes and stability over headline changes. One UI 9 itself, introduced in May, brought a more customizable Quick Panel, new Samsung Notes tools, accessibility improvements, and additional security protections. Samsung has not announced a stable release date for One UI 9 on the Galaxy S26, S26+, or S26 Ultra, nor confirmed whether Beta 5 will be the final beta build.
The company unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Z Fold8, and Z Flip8 on July 22, 2026, with Android 17 and One UI 9 preinstalled, placing those newer devices ahead of the S26 line in the software rollout. As with any prerelease software, bugs may still exist, and users relying on their S26 as a primary device are advised to consider potential app compatibility or stability issues.
With the Galaxy S26 series now in the beta phase for One UI 9, Samsung users eagerly await the official release of the new user interface.
